Yamaha YFL 677 Concert flute

Professional flute with offset G key system from 600 series that offers a rich, nuanced tonality over a wide dynamic range and has inherited the many merits of top-of-the-line Yamaha handmade flutes. It combines the brightness of nickel silver keys with the characteristic mellow timbres of sterling silver used on body, footjoint, headjoint and lip plate. Based on the Handmade Flute’s Type A design from Yamaha’s 900 and 800 series which offers a wider expressive range, the Type Am headjoint additionally offers easier response and excellent balance over the instrument’s entire range, slightly heavier resistance, and a wide dynamic range. A special sound annealing process delivers more pure transmission of vibration from the player to the flute for rich resonance and superior response. The keys are hand-assembled and meticulously balanced for a perfect touch, and the key shapes have been so exquisitely designed and ergonomically placed that the flute will almost ‘disappear’ in player’s hands. Performances will feel effortlessly natural. A#, F# and other non-fingered keys feature pointed key arms with beautiful designs inspired by traditional European styling. The Straubinger Phoenix Pads offer the same concept as Straubinger Pads on Yamaha’s handmade flute, but have more suitable design for this model. The pads offer softer touch, but also superior response, wide dynamic range and tolerance of environmental changes. The thickness of the instrument’s wall has been further increased from 0.38mm to 0.43mm to improve balance for use with the headjoint and the pads. Other features include an E mechanism, ring keys and drawn and curled tone holes. The flute is supplied with compact, durable case for easy travel and protection of the instrument that is accompanied by a sophisticated case cover.
