XLR Cable 5m

Five metres is the standard mic cable length for rehearsal rooms and smaller stages. A singer at the mic stand can reach the mixer by the wall or the stage box at the edge of the stage and still have slack to move around. The range covers male-to-female XLR cables from Cordial, Klotz, Bespeco, Roland, Soundking and D'Addario Planet Waves, plus a few with a 6.3 mm jack on the other end. The same 5 m XLR cable also hooks up an active wedge monitor standing on the floor in front of the singer.

How far does a 5 m XLR cable reach on stage?

In a club, a café or at a wedding, the mixer or stage box usually sits at the side of the stage. Five metres covers the run from the singer's or guitarist's stand or a drum mic all the way across to it, loops around the wedges included, so you don't have to stretch the cable taut over the stage. For the longer run to the desk out in the hall, use 10 m XLR cables; a mic on a desk, by contrast, only needs 2 m XLR cables.

What's a 5 m XLR to mono jack cable for?

It lets you connect a microphone to gear that only has a jack input: a small mixer, a guitar or keyboard combo, or an older amplifier. A mono jack (TS) carries an unbalanced signal, so it's best to run it only as far as you really need. Cables with XLR on both ends, in other lengths too, are listed under XLR Cables.
