Unleashed is a Swedish death metal band established in 1989 by Johnny Hedlund in Stockholm. Known for powerful riffs and intense energy, the band explores themes such as Viking heritage, Norse mythology, and echoes of a pre-Christian era. Some of their newer work features nods to the world of J. R. R. Tolkien. Unleashed stands as one of the big four of Swedish death metal, alongside Dismember, Entombed, and Grave.
