Trouble is a doom metal band from Chicago, Illinois, formed in 1978. Recognized as one of the pioneers of the genre and part of doom metal’s "big four," they helped shape the sound alongside bands like Candlemass, Pentagram, and Saint Vitus. Trouble’s music blends heavy riffs influenced by Black Sabbath and Judas Priest with psychedelic touches from the 1960s. Their early albums, Psalm 9 and The Skull, are considered classics in doom metal. The band’s lineup has featured key members such as vocalist Eric Wagner, guitarists Rick Wartell and Bruce Franklin, and drummer Jeff Olson. Known for spiritually themed lyrics, Trouble was promoted as "white metal" in the 1980s. Over the years, the band has experienced lineup changes and periods of inactivity but remains an influential name in heavy music.
