The Loar's hand-carved LH-700 archtop guitar is a product of extensive historic research. Its excellent projection and quick decay make it the professional choice for jazz soloing or accompaniment.
The LH-700 is assembled with an AAA solid hand carved spruce top, AAA flamed maple back and sides, and a figured maple neck with a vintage-style skunk stripe. The bone nut and compensated adjustable ebony bridge let the sound of the select tonewoods resonate clearly. The headstock is inlaid with a MOP 'Flowerpot' headstock design and the guitar is finished with a tobacco sunburst finish to stay true to classic design and style. The LH-700 comes standard with the Golden Age-styled Deluxe Vintage Hardshell archtop case.
Ebony is a very hard and dense wood with a smooth surface and a rich, dark color. It offers a clear, articulate tone with excellent response. The ebony fingerboard is popular for its durability, speed and luxurious appearance, while offering excellent playability and precise tone.
The glossy finish gives any surface an elegant and luxurious look. This type of finish is achieved by applying several layers of lacquer or resin, which are then polished to a high gloss. This provides a smooth, reflective finish, enhancing color and structure of substrate. The glossy finish not only improves aesthetics, but also protects against dust, moisture and minor scratches.
Maple is known for its strength and stability, making it ideal for necks that need to resist bending and warping.
