The Dave Clark Five, often called the DC5, were a leading English rock and roll band from Tottenham, London, formed in 1958. Led by drummer and producer Dave Clark, the group rose to fame in the early 1960s as part of the British Invasion. Their breakout hit "Glad All Over" replaced The Beatles at the top of the UK charts in 1964 and also became a US top ten single. The band is known for energetic hits like "Bits and Pieces," "Can't You See That She's Mine," "Catch Us If You Can," and "Over and Over," which reached number one in the US. They made a significant impact in America with seventeen top-40 singles and frequent appearances on The Ed Sullivan Show. In 1965, they starred in the film "Catch Us If You Can." The group disbanded in 1970, but their influence persisted, culminating in their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2008.
