Skunk Anansie are a British rock band formed in 1994 and made up of Skin on vocals and guitar, Cass on bass and guitar, Ace on guitar, and Mark Richardson on drums. Known for their powerful, hard-edged sound that set them apart from the Britpop scene, they have released six studio albums, including Paranoid and Sunburnt, Stoosh, and Anarchytecture, along with hit singles such as Charity, Hedonism, Selling Jesus, and Weak. Inspired by African folk tales for their name, Skunk Anansie were recognized as one of the UK’s most successful chart acts between 1952 and 2003. After disbanding in 2001, they reunited in 2009 and have sold over five million records worldwide.
