Magnetic sound-hole active pickup unit for steel string acoustic guitar that captures natural warmth and full-spectrum detail of the acoustic instruments. It combines a high-quality hum-cancelling magnetic Stack pickup with an omni-directional condenser microphone: pickup delivers the natural, full bodied warmth of the guitar, while the mic allows for dial in of just the right amount of high end resonance and airiness and unique character. Together they provide crystal clear acoustic tone. It is also suitable for percussive style playing and it can handle loud volumes. It can even take on overdrive and intentional feedback. Pickup allows unique tailoring of the sound by providing the freedom of blending the mic in (or out) as much as necessary to achieve just the right overall sonic balance. It features two on-board controls: a master volume, and a mic blend. It can be installed permanently with the strap button endpin jack, or temporarily by hanging the jack from the existing strap button with the special built-in strain relief loop in the pickup’s output cable. Pickup requires the use of a 9V battery, but also allows installing the (included) 12V battery clips on the bottom of the pickup for more convenient battery access and easier portability (overall battery life is a little shorter when using a 12V battery). It connects to the amp, PA, direct box, or console with a standard guitar cable. It fits into guitars with sound-holes from 8.25 mm to 10.67 mm.
