Indická Klasická hudba je hudba ktorej treba porozumieť, pri ktorej sa treba sústrediť a Pandit Ravi Shankar nám odhalí tajomstvá a spôsob improvizácie hneď na úvod, aby ,,západný človek" mal aspoň predstavu čo počúva. Indická Klasická hudba smeruje k intelektuálnemu publiku. Rozhodne to nie je druh hudby ktorú si pustí samozvaný "normálny človek" na grilovačke u seba na dvore kde sú porozhadzované plechovky piva a cigaretové ohorky. Toto hudobné seba-vyjadrenie ocení intelektuál, študent hudby alebo hudobný pedagóg.
