Leftfield

Leftfield

Leftfield is a pioneering British electronic music act from London, originally founded in 1989 by Neil Barnes and Paul Daley. As key figures in 1990s dance music, Leftfield are credited with shaping the progressive house genre by blending house, dub, and reggae influences. They gained recognition for working with distinctive guest vocalists, including Johnny Rotten, Toni Halliday, Djum Djum, Earl 16, Cheshire Cat, and Grian Chatten. Following a break from 2002 to 2010, Barnes continued Leftfield as a solo project, releasing the albums Alternative Light Source in 2015 and This Is What We Do in 2022. Leftfield remains influential for their innovative production and genre-crossing collaborations.
