The designers of this pedal took the basic building blocks of a vintage circuit, improved it, incorporated "special ingredients" inside using NOS BC-107B transistors and added an extra function to the mix. You'll notice there's an octave switch like the vintage units these pedals are modeled after... but it's not just a straight on/off. When the switch is in STINGER mode, the momentary STINGER switch is activated. You can simply stand on the momentary switch, turn on the octave to lead the attack, then release the STINGER switch to return to normal fuzz, or even tap the switch to toggle the octave on and off. This feature is absolutely amazing. When the switch is in OCTAVE mode, the fuzz is permanently OCTAVE fuzz and the STINGER switch is NOT ACTIVE. The fuzz control goes from a light fuzz with some clean sounds to a raging wall of fuzz tones. The tone control is wide. All in all, this pedal is a perfect addition to any guitar player or bassist's tonal arsenal. OCTAVE works even at low fuzz settings!
