Gibson J-45 Standard Rosewood Rosewood Burst electro-acoustic guitar

The J-45 is Gibson's best-selling acoustic of all time. Nicknamed "The Workhorse" and first introduced in 1942, this iconic acoustic has become the cornerstone of our round-shoulder, dreadnought line. We are pleased to release a new version of the J-45 Standard with rosewood back and sides that delivers all of the playing and sonic characteristics you'd expect from the world-renowned J-45 but with slightly fuller bass response and overtone complexity due to the rosewood body. Also available as a left-handed model, these exceptional acoustic guitars come complete with an L.R. Baggs VTC under-saddle pickup and preamp system, making them stage and studio-ready from the moment you take them out of the included hardshell case.

Neck

Neck: Mahogany

The guitar features a mahogany neck for excellent strength and stability. Mahogany is known for its great resonance, contributing to a warm, rich tone with a distinctive mid-range.

Fretboard

Fretboard: Indian Rosewood

Indian rosewood is a popular wood for fingerboards, known for its hardness and rich, dark tone. It offers a warm, balanced tone with excellent response and sustain. The Indian rosewood fingerboard is valued for its smoothness and feel, while offering durability and longevity. It is popular for its rich sound and aesthetic appearance.

Finish

Finish: Polished

The glossy finish gives any surface an elegant and luxurious look. This type of finish is achieved by applying several layers of lacquer or resin, which are then polished to a high gloss. This provides a smooth, reflective finish, enhancing color and structure of substrate. The glossy finish not only improves aesthetics, but also protects against dust, moisture and minor scratches.
