Brooks and Dunn are a legendary American country music duo made up of Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn. Formed in 1988, they quickly became one of the genre’s most successful acts after signing with Arista Nashville. Both members had solo careers in the 1980s before joining forces.
Over their career, Brooks and Dunn have released eleven studio albums and more than fifty singles, with twenty songs topping the country charts and many others becoming fan favorites. Major hits include Brand New Man, Neon Moon, Boot Scootin’ Boogie, My Maria, Ain’t Nothing ‘Bout You, and Red Dirt Road. Their energetic blend of honky-tonk, country, and rock influences helped repopularize line dancing and gave them crossover appeal.
The duo has received numerous awards, including multiple Country Music Association Vocal Duo of the Year wins and two Grammy Awards for Hard Workin’ Man and My Maria. Their debut album Brand New Man is certified six-times platinum.
Brooks and Dunn retired in 2010 but reunited for a Las Vegas residency with Reba McEntire in 2015 and were inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2019. Their enduring influence and catalog of hits have made them icons in country music.
