Boss EQ-200 Guitar Effect

The Boss EQ-200 Graphic Equalizer is a dual 10-band EQ pedal that brings studio-grade tonal shaping to guitar, bass, and keyboard rigs. With 32-bit/96 kHz internal processing and selectable stereo, series, or parallel routing, it adapts to single-amp setups as well as complex multi-amp rigs. Three switchable frequency ranges let players optimize the EQ curve for any instrument, while 128 user memories provide instant recall of custom tones.

  • Dual 10-band EQ channels with 15 dB boost/cut per band and per-channel level control for solo boosts.
  • Three selectable frequency ranges (30 Hz–12.8 kHz, 32 Hz–16 kHz, 28 Hz–14 kHz) optimize the curve for guitar, bass, or keys.
  • Insert loop allows external pedals to be patched in for pre- and post-EQ tone shaping.
  • Full MIDI I/O plus expression pedal and footswitch support for hands-free control on stage.

Boss EQ-200 Graphic Equalizer — Studio-Grade Tone Sculpting in a Stompbox

This Boss EQ-200 Graphic Equalizer is the most flexible compact EQ ever created for guitar and bass, packing dual 10-band channels into a streamlined 200-series chassis. Two simultaneous 10-band EQs can be configured for stereo, parallel, or series operation, fitting equally well in front of a single amp or inside a multi-amp rig. A backlit graphic LCD shows the active EQ curve in real time.

Three Frequency Ranges and an External Insert Loop

Most graphic EQ pedals lock you into a single set of center frequencies, but this unit switches between three ranges — 30 Hz to 12.8 kHz, 32 Hz to 16 kHz, or 28 Hz to 14 kHz — to match the curve to any instrument. An insert function also patches in an external pedal chain for pre- and/or post-EQ processing, turning the pedal into a tone-shaping hub rather than a single utility.

32-bit / 96 kHz Signal Path

The internal engine runs at 32-bit floating point with 32-bit AD/DA conversion and a 96 kHz sampling rate, giving the pedal enough headroom for hot pickups and active bass signals without coloration. Buffered bypass preserves signal integrity when the EQ is disengaged.

  • A 96 kHz sampling rate captures full harmonic content without aliasing.
  • AD/DA Conversion: 32-bit — preserves dynamic range at extreme boost/cut settings.
  • Processing: 32-bit floating point — internal headroom keeps the EQ curve transparent.

Dual 10-Band EQ with Switchable Centers

Each channel runs 10 bands with up to 15 dB of boost or cut, plus a master level slider for solo boosts. The center frequencies of all 10 bands can be reconfigured across three range types, so the same pedal covers electric guitar, acoustic guitar, bass, and keyboards.

  • EQ Channels: 2 × 10-band — independent A and B channels for stereo, parallel, or series routing.
  • Boost/Cut Range: ±15 dB per band — surgical control for cutting resonances or boosting solo presence.
  • Frequency Range Types: 30 Hz–12.8 kHz / 32 Hz–16 kHz / 28 Hz–14 kHz — three switchable center-frequency sets.

MIDI, Expression, and 128-Memory Recall

Full MIDI I/O on mini TRS jacks allows program-change recall of any of the 128 user setups from an external controller. The CTL 1, 2/EXP jack accepts external footswitches or an expression pedal for volume or continuous parameter control, and a micro-USB port handles firmware updates.

  • MIDI Interface: Yes (mini TRS IN/OUT) — recall any of 128 user setups via MIDI program change.
  • Memory Slots: 128 user setups — store and instantly recall custom EQ curves per song or venue.
  • Power: PSA-series AC adaptor or 3 × AA batteries — approximately 7 hours of alkaline runtime for cable-free setups.
  • Dimensions: 101 × 138 × 60 mm — compact 200-series footprint fits standard pedalboards.
  • Weight: 630 g — light enough for fly rigs and travel boards.

Тype: Equalizer

Equalizer is an effect that allows adjustment of a sound’s frequency response by boosting or cutting specific frequency bands. It is used to shape tone, balance the sound of an instrument, or tailor it to fit a specific mix or space. Equalizers can be graphic (with fixed bands) or parametric (with adjustable frequencies and bandwidth).

MIDI Interface

MIDI Interface: Yes

It supports MIDI, allowing you to connect and communicate with other MIDI-compatible devices. This feature extends control and integration into the larger music environment, increasing flexibility and creativity in music creation.
