Beth Gibbons, born in 1965, is an acclaimed English singer and songwriter best known as the voice of Portishead. With the band, she helped define the sound of trip hop through three influential albums. Outside Portishead, she collaborated with Rustin Man on Out of Season and recorded Górecki's Symphony No. 3 with the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra. In 2024, she released her first solo album, Lives Outgrown, which earned critical praise and a Mercury Prize nomination. She performed live at Glastonbury in June 2025.
