Annie Lennox, born in 1954 in Scotland, is a renowned singer-songwriter, activist, and philanthropist. She first found success in the late 1970s with the Tourists before rising to global fame in the 1980s as one half of Eurythmics, alongside Dave Stewart. Her striking androgynous image and powerful voice, highlighted in the "Sweet Dreams" video, made her an icon. Hits with Eurythmics include "There Must Be an Angel," "Love Is a Stranger," and "Here Comes the Rain Again." Lennox launched a successful solo career in the 1990s, with albums like Diva and Medusa, producing hits such as "Why" and "No More I Love You's." She has won multiple Brit and Grammy Awards, along with a Golden Globe and an Oscar for "Into the West" from The Lord of the Rings.
