D'Addario PL011-5 Single Guitar String

D'Addario PL011-5 Plain Steel Single String for Electric Guitar

The D'Addario PL011-5 is a 5-pack of .011 gauge plain steel single strings built specifically for electric guitar. Each string is cut from plain steel and left unwound, producing the bright, ringing tone that sits at the top of a standard six-string set. Because the strings are sold individually in a 5-pack, players can replace a broken high-E or B-string without buying a full set, or mix and match gauges to build a custom light or hybrid set tailored to their playing style. Plain steel strings from this brand are manufactured in the USA using digitally controlled machinery, and the innovative packaging is designed to reduce waste and protect against corrosion between uses.

Who It's For

The PL011-5 is the right choice for electric guitar players who need a reliable .011 plain steel replacement string on hand at all times. It suits anyone whose high-E or B-string has snapped mid-gig and who wants a single, affordable spare rather than a full set. Custom set builders will also appreciate the 5-pack format, which makes it easy to assemble a hybrid gauge set — for example, pairing a lighter .009 or .010 with this .011 for a balanced feel across all six strings. The plain steel construction delivers the crisp attack and clear top-end that cut through a mix in rock, blues, country, and pop styles, making it a practical spare for players across genres.
