Cornerstone Centurio Dual Guitar Effect
The Cornerstone Centurio Dual Overdrive is a hand-built Italian dual-channel overdrive pedal that expands the classic Klon-style circuit into a flexible two-stage setup. Two independent channels — Normal and Hot Mode — each have their own Gain and Volume controls, switchable on the fly via dedicated footswitches without adding extra pedals to the board.
- Dual-channel architecture with independent Gain and Volume per channel
- Continuously variable Clip control sweeps from germanium to MOSFET clipping
- Dedicated Bright switch shapes the Hot Mode channel only
- External footswitch input for remote channel switching on stage
Dual-Channel Klon-Style Overdrive with Independent Gain Stages
The Cornerstone Centurio Dual Overdrive takes the transparent, amp-enhancing feel of the classic Klon-inspired circuit and adds a second independent channel inside a single stompbox. The Normal channel delivers the familiar clean boost to light overdrive response, while the Hot Mode channel stacks a second gain stage for more saturation, natural compression, and longer sustain. Both channels share a Tone control but have their own Gain and Volume, so each can be dialed in separately and switched on the fly without reaching down. The Centurio is the right choice for guitarists who want the dynamic feel of a Klon-style drive plus a second, heavier voice in one pedal — no extra boxes, no chain gymnastics.
Continuously Variable Clipping and a Dedicated Bright Switch
What makes this pedal stand out is its continuously variable Clip control, which sweeps the entire range of classic Klon-style clipping behavior rather than locking the player into one voicing. At the minimum position the circuit leans toward a germanium-style asymmetrical response with more headroom and a looser feel; at the maximum it moves toward MOSFET-style symmetrical clipping with tighter compression and more definition. The Hot Mode channel also gets its own Bright switch — up adds top-end sparkle, down tightens the response — so the second channel can be voiced independently from Normal.
Two Independent Channels in One Pedal
The dual-channel architecture is the core of the design. Each channel has its own footswitch, so players can engage either stage independently or stack them for more drive.
- Channels: Normal (Klon-style clean boost to light overdrive) and Hot Mode (second gain stage with more saturation and compression)
- Channel Switching: Two onboard footswitches plus external footswitch input for remote switching
- Bypass: True bypass
Clip Sweep, Bright Switch, and Shared Tone
The control layout is built around the variable Clip knob and the dedicated Bright switch, giving players fine-grained control over the clipping character and top-end response of each channel.
- Clip Control: Continuously variable sweep from germanium (minimum) to MOSFET (maximum)
- Bright Switch: Two-position toggle affecting Hot Mode only — up brighter, down tighter
- Controls: Tone (shared), Clip, Volume and Gain (Normal), Volume and Gain (Hot Mode)
Hand-Built in Italy with Standard 9V Power
Assembled by hand in Italy, the Centurio runs on a standard 9V DC supply and slots onto most pedalboards without taking up extra space.
- Power: 9V DC, center negative, 120 mA current draw
- I/O: 6.3 mm jack input and output, 5.5 x 2.1 mm barrel power connector
- Dimensions: 120 x 94 x 42.4 mm — Weight: 500 g
Тype: Overdrive
Overdrive simulates the natural distortion of a tube amplifier pushed to higher volume levels. It produces a warm, smooth, and dynamic tone with mild clipping that responds to playing intensity. It is used to achieve a more expressive sound in both lead and rhythm parts, especially in blues, rock, and country music.
True Bypass: Yes
It has a true bypass function, which ensures that when the effects are turned off, the signal passes directly through the unit without influence or degradation.
