Metric Halo MB Howies179 (Digital product)

Howie's Mastering Sound in Your DAW

MB Howies179 is a compressor and limiter plug-in that recreates the legendary NTP 179-120 hardware Howie Weinberg used at Masterdisk on countless records. Built with the legendary mastering engineer, it captures the dynamics and boxtone of his personal units. The result is a faithful digital version of one of the most unobtrusive stereo bus compressors ever made.

What Makes This Plug-In Special

Unlike generic emulations, this plug-in was modeled directly from Howie's actual hardware, not just inspired by it. The simple UI reflects his 40+ years of mastering experience, with settings dialed in for the sweet spot of the legendary processor. It adds recallability and the freedom to use more than a stereo pair.

Who Should Use MB Howies179

This plug-in is the right choice for producers, musicians, and engineers who want final weight and smoothness on their productions. Because it is not limited to a single stereo pair, it can be used across full mixes as well as on individual buses and tracks. It runs in any major DAW on Mac and Windows, including Pro Tools, Logic and Studio One, and includes the MH Preset Manager for cross-platform presets.
