Dan-Erland Swanö, born in 1973, is a Swedish musician and record producer recognized for his work across multiple metal and rock genres. He is best known as a core member of Nightingale and Witherscape, and rose to prominence as the vocalist and main songwriter for Edge of Sanity. Celebrated for his progressive approach to songwriting and his skill as a multi-instrumentalist, Swanö has had a lasting influence on progressive death metal, melodic death metal, black metal, and power metal. He is also known for blending clean and growled vocals and for operating the Unisound recording studio.
