David Thomas Mason, born in 1946 in Worcester, is an English singer-songwriter and guitarist best known as a founding member of the rock band Traffic. Rising to fame in the late 1960s, he wrote and sang lead on Traffic classics like Hole in My Shoe and Feelin' Alright?. Mason’s songwriting also gained recognition through hits such as Only You Know and I Know and the solo US hit We Just Disagree. Beyond his work with Traffic, he became a sought-after session musician, contributing to recordings by legendary artists including George Harrison, the Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, and Eric Clapton. In 2004, Mason was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Traffic and also launched an electric guitar company with Ravi Sawhney.
