SoundID Reference Virtual Monitoring is the SoundID Reference system that enhances headphone monitoring by simulating how mixes sound on real studio speakers and consumer playback environments. It lets you hear your audio as if you were listening on calibrated near-field, mid-field, or far-field speakers, as well as in everyday environments like cars, laptops, TVs, and smartphones — all through your headphones. This helps you make better mix decisions that translate reliably across different playback systems. Virtual Monitoring runs both as a standalone system and as a DAW plugin and includes a library of spatial simulations and device profiles. Unlike the more advanced PRO version, this regular Virtual Monitoring add-on does not require a measurement microphone and uses built-in speaker and device models to create its simulations.
