Ibanez QX54QM-BSM Blue Sphere Burst Headless guitar

The Parallel Wizard neck is 19mm thick all the way through the entire length. It provides an amazing fretting-hand experience for the players who prefer their instrument held in a higher playing position. The 3pc Roasted Maple/Bubinga construction also offers excellent stability and long-term durability. The Quilted Maple top sonically enriches the response for picking. Nyatoh used as body wood provides a rich mid-low end. The beautiful Birdseye Maple fretboard imbues this model with an exotic appearance . The fretboard is heat-treated for a balanced attack and rich sustain. Jescar EVO gold frets are known for their bright tone, gorgeous appearance, and excellent features such as long-lasting durability and smooth note bending. The R1 / Q58 pickup combo is designed specifically for use in headless guitars. They provide a clearly defined sound, facilitating excellent tonal balance through all frequencies. The lows are powerful without being muddy, and the highs are bright and clear, but never harsh. As a result, every single note within the chord structure is well defined, and clearly audible. These pickups, with their tonal balance, and extremely low noise performance, work extremely well with both digital and analog effects. Custom string lock is one-piece unit that features very simple construction. This means the hardware requires less maintenance, is highly durable, and allows for very easy string changes. Additionally, no proprietary string is required, so you can continue to use your favorite gauge and brand. The Mono-Tune bridges offer a wide intonation range so that you can easily set the instrument up for tuning down a whole step or even further. The string height is also easily adjustable, and each saddle generally has less material, which leads to more natural and organic tone. The dyna-MIX 10 offers ten sound variations and can easily switch from humbucker and single coil modes with the mini switch. The power Tap mode provides a realistic single coil sound despite its two humbucker pickup layout.

Тype

Тype: Headless Guitar

A headless guitar is an electric guitar without a headstock, where the tuning machines are located on the bridge. This design reduces weight and balances the instrument, making it easier to play and more portable. Guitars of this type have a modern look and are popular in progressive and experimental music.

Finish

Finish: Matte

The matte finish gives surfaces a subtle, unobtrusive and elegant appearance without gloss. This type of finish is achieved by using special paints, varnishes or coatings that absorb light instead of reflecting it. This provides a smooth, non-dazzling finish which gives the materials a sophisticated and modern appearance. The matte finish is popular for its ability to hide small imperfections and fingerprints, making it a convenient choice for everyday use.

Body

Body: Nyatoh

Nyatoh is a medium-weight wood with characteristics similar to mahogany. It offers a warm, round tone with a strong mid-range and good sustain. It is more affordable and is often used as an alternative to more expensive woods. It offers a balanced sound suitable for a wide range of musical styles.

Pickups Configuration: HSS

The humbucker-single-coil-single-coil configuration means that the guitar is equipped with one humbucker pickup and two single-coil pickups. This combination offers a powerful and full tone from the bridge humbucker, along with bright and crisp sounds from the single-coil pickups, giving you a wide range of tonal possibilities, ideal for a variety of musical styles.

When I first picked that up for testing, I thought it was a toy. Man, how mistaken I was. Unbelievably lightweight, resonant and comfortable to play with a super fast slim neck. It feels like a guitar I have had for years rather than minutes. The only complaint I could have is the satin finish on the back of the neck gets shiny pretty quickly. Not my first guitar with such a finish, and the other has stayed matte since the purchase half a year ago. But it's just a cosmetic thing having no impact on the guitar. Highly recommended for various genres of music, from blues to progressive metal. EDIT: after a month of struggling with setting up the proper action, I gave up and let a luthier do the adjustment. It happened he had to file the nut and some frets to adjust action and keep buzzing of the neck. A job that had to be done at the factory. Hopefully this year Ibanez drops the Prestige series of that guitar. I'll snap it without hesitation.
