Formerly called “ESP Standard”, all ESP E-II instruments are created at ESP factory in Tokyo, Japan, and are designed for professional players who accept no compromises in tone, feel, or reliability for their guitars and basses. The E-II Horizon NT-II is available in See Thru Black Cherry Sunburst, and features neck-thru-body construction with a mahogany body and arched quilted maple top, and a three-piece maple neck that features an ebony fingerboard with 24 extra-jumbo frets and offset block inlays, and a satin finish on the back for super smooth playability. This guitar offers high-end components that include Gotoh locking tuners, a Gotoh TOM bridge and tailpiece, a bone nut, and Dunlop locking strap buttons. Pickups on the E-II Horizon FR-II are EMG 66TW (neck) and EMG 57TW (bridge), both with Brushed Black Chrome covers and coil splitting with push-pull controls. Pros: - Excellent workmanship and quality. - EMG 57TW and EMG 66TW are unique pickups. Excellent sound. - The feel of the satin neck is amazing. It's super fast. - Gotoh Locking Tuners are another feature worth mentioning. Cons: - My biggest disappointment is the quilted maple top. For a guitar in this price range, it is extremely mediocre. I've seen better tops on cheaper guitars. - The weight of this one (3.5 kg or 7.91 lbs) comes a little bit heavy for my liking.
