Epiphone 1962 ES-335 Reissue Vintage Burst Semi-Acoustic Guitar

The ES-335 is one of the most legendary guitar designs in history. Known for its unmatched versatility, it’s been embraced by players across virtually every genre. Blending the best of solidbody sustain and hollowbody resonance, its semi-hollow construction features a solid maple center block, which helps control feedback while still delivering rich tone and dynamic response.

Now, Epiphone—working in collaboration with Gibson Custom—brings you the 1962 ES-335 Reissue. This guitar takes inspiration from high-end custom shop models, but it’s based on a year that often flies under the radar: 1962. This was a pivotal moment in the ES-335’s evolution, when it featured rounded cutaways, small block inlays, and a fast, slim neck profile that many players love for its comfort and playability.

Key Features:

  • Semi-hollow 5-ply maple/poplar body with a solid maple center block for excellent sustain and reduced feedback

  • Rounded double cutaways, true to the 1962 shape

  • One-piece mahogany neck with a slim 1960s-style “C” profile

  • Rosewood fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets and mother-of-pearl small block inlays

  • Rolled fingerboard edges for a broken-in, vintage feel

  • Historically accurate side dot markers, just like the vintage originals

  • “Open book” headstock with aged pearloid inlays, Epiphone logo, and Gibson-style crown

  • Smooth-turning Deluxe tuners with double-ring Keystone buttons

  • ABR-style bridge and lightweight aluminum tailpiece mounted into the center block for added resonance and tuning stability

Electronics:

  • A pair of USA-made Custombucker humbuckers, wired by hand

  • CTS potentiometers and Black Beauty paper-in-oil capacitors

  • Delivers classic ES-335 tones—warm, articulate, and endlessly expressive—ideal for rock, blues, jazz, country, and beyond

Included:

  • Vintage-style hard case with black exterior, plush goldenrod interior, and custom graphics to match the aesthetic of the guitar

Finish

Finish: Polished

The glossy finish gives any surface an elegant and luxurious look. This type of finish is achieved by applying several layers of lacquer or resin, which are then polished to a high gloss. This provides a smooth, reflective finish, enhancing color and structure of substrate. The glossy finish not only improves aesthetics, but also protects against dust, moisture and minor scratches.
