Epiphone 1957 Les Paul Goldtop Reissue Goldtop Electric guitar
The 1957 Les Paul Goldtop is one of the most iconic and sought-after vintage guitars. 1957 was the year the Les Paul truly came into its own with the introduction of humbucker pickups. These pickups, along with the ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge and Stop Bar tailpiece, were defining features that gave the Les Paul its legendary sound and appeal. These features first appeared on the Les Paul Custom in 1953 and on the Goldtop in 1955. The combination of humbuckers and the solid body made the Les Paul into a true rock icon.
Now, Epiphone, in collaboration with Gibson Custom, is proud to present the 1957 Les Paul Goldtop Reissue. This is a stunningly authentic reproduction of the early humbucker-equipped Les Paul Goldtops, offering the vintage Les Paul look and performance at a more accessible price.
It features a genuine mahogany body with a carved plain maple cap and is finished in a new Vintage Gloss version of the classic Goldtop color. The finish gives the guitar a vintage appearance without looking overly aged. The one-piece mahogany neck has a 50s Rounded Medium C profile and a long neck tenon for excellent stability and sustain. The bound rosewood fretboard is adorned with mother-of-pearl trapezoid inlays and is equipped with 22 medium jumbo frets, just like the original 1957 models. It also features a slightly aged mother-of-pearl Epiphone logo and the words “Les Paul Model” silkscreened in gold on the Gibson-style “open book” headstock. The side dot position markers are the same size as those found on vintage 1957 Les Paul Standard models and are placed in historically accurate locations.
The hardware is nickel-plated, including the ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, the Gibson Historic reissue aluminum Stop Bar Tailpiece, and the Epiphone Deluxe “Single Ring” Keystone button tuners. The electronics are top-notch, with two USA Gibson Custombucker humbucking pickups with Alnico 3 magnets, hand-wired to CTS potentiometers, Black Beauty paper-in-oil capacitors, and a Switchcraft pickup selector toggle switch and 1/4” output jack.
A historic-inspired hardshell case with a brown exterior, pink plush interior, and Inspired by Gibson Custom graphics is also included. The 1957 Les Paul Goldtop Reissue is more than just a guitar; it’s a bridge to a symphony of possibilities, ready to help you make your own mark on music history.
Тype: Les Paul
Les Paul is an iconic electric guitar made by Gibson, introduced in 1952. It has a solid body, usually made of mahogany, with a maple top. This gives it a rich sustain and a full, warm tone. It features humbucker pickups that minimize noise and offer a powerful, distorted sound. Les Paul is popular in rock, blues, and heavy metal.
Finish: Polished
The glossy finish gives any surface an elegant and luxurious look. This type of finish is achieved by applying several layers of lacquer or resin, which are then polished to a high gloss. This provides a smooth, reflective finish, enhancing color and structure of substrate. The glossy finish not only improves aesthetics, but also protects against dust, moisture and minor scratches.
Body: Mahogany
Mahogany is a dense wood that produces a warm, full tone with rich bass and a strong mid-range. It is known for its excellent sustain and resonance, giving it a deep and round sound.
Neck: Mahogany
The guitar features a mahogany neck for excellent strength and stability. Mahogany is known for its great resonance, contributing to a warm, rich tone with a distinctive mid-range.
Fretboard: Rosewood
Rosewood is a dark, dense wood that offers a warm, rich tone with excellent response and sustain. The rosewood fingerboard is valued for its smoothness and comfortable feel while offering durability and longevity. It is popular for its rich sound and classic aesthetic.
Pickups Configuration: HH
The humbucker-humbucker configuration means that the guitar is equipped with two humbucker pickups. It offers a powerful, full sound with high output and low noise, ideal for rock and metal.
