Dominique Fils-Aimé is a Montreal-born Canadian singer celebrated for her soulful blend of jazz, blues, and soul. The daughter of Haitian immigrants, Fils-Aimé first gained attention as a semi-finalist on La Voix in 2015 before launching a critically acclaimed trilogy of albums exploring the history and roots of African-American music. Her debut album, Nameless, explored blues, followed by the jazz-inspired Stay Tuned, which earned her a Juno Award and a Félix for Jazz Album of the Year, as well as recognition from the Polaris Music Prize and CBC. In 2021, she released Three Little Words, delving into soul and further solidifying her place in Canadian music, with another Polaris shortlisting. Fils-Aimé’s versatility is also reflected in her film work and collaborations, including contributing to youth mental health initiatives. Her 2023 album, Our Roots Run Deep, continued her streak of accolades, winning both the Juno and the Félix for Jazz Album of the Year.
