Avantone Pro ADM Microphone for Snare Drum

This is the 2nd generation ADM snare drum microphone from Avantone and a great deal of R&D effort has culminated in this rugged, great sounding mic. We feel it represents the very finest snare drum microphone available, both for live clubs & concerts, as well as serious studio recording projects. The Avantone ADM snare drum mic is voiced to "follow" the familiar sound of industry standard snare mics. However, we engineered a better low end and smoother, extended top end. Although we call it a "snare drum mic", the ADM is a versatile mic that is completely at home on high toms, bongos, congas, guitar cabinets, etc. Each Avantone ADM snare drum mic is die cast from zinc, with a brass and steel grill assembly. As with all of our mics, there is NO PLASTIC to break! Aesthetically, each mic features an elegant Cabernet Wine-Red finish, accented with polished nickel trim and a black grill assembly. All components are designed and manufactured using the finest materials yielding a very solid feel, superb structural integrity and rugged reliability. A unique feature of all our drum mics is pair of machined insets on the barrel of the microphone body. These insets allow the O-rings of the SSM shockmount to "lock" the mic into place, which prevents mic shifting and slippage.

Frequency Range

Frequency Range: 50 Hz - 16 kHz

The frequency response 50 Hz - 16 kHz provides a wide enough range to capture all the fine musical and sonic details.

Polar Pattern

Polar Pattern: Cardioid

The cardioid directional microphone is designed to be most sensitive to sounds coming directly from the front and less sensitive to sounds coming from the sides and back. This directional pattern resembles the shape of a heart (hence the name "cardioid") and is ideal for situations where it is necessary to focus on a single sound source and minimize ambient noise.

Sound Pressure Level (SPL)

Sound Pressure Level (SPL): 145 dB

High SPL levels up to 145 dB allow you to experience the sound as it was originally intended, with sufficient volume and dynamics.

Capsule Type: Dynamic

A dynamic microphone is a type of microphone that works by moving a coil in a magnetic field. This mechanism allows you to capture sound waves and convert them into electrical signals. Dynamic microphones provide a natural and warm sound with excellent handling of loud sound sources such as vocals, drums, or electric instruments. Their directionality usually prevents unwanted ambient sounds from being picked up, which reduces background noise.
