Active electronic system for bass guitar that does not use an operational amplifier but special engagement with JFET transducer which acts similarly to the standard systems. It is powered by 9V battery with lifespan of approx. 420 hours (1000 when high quality alkaline battery is used). The system provides basic amplification of +12 dB, bass correction of +14 dB/-4 dB @ 55 Hz and treble correction of +14 dB/-12 dB @ 6.5 kHz.

BP-4 jsou velmi dobře udělané aktivní korekce, které čistě přenesou i velmi silný signál snímačů - u mě PB Seymour Duncan a HB ve stylu Music Man u kobylky. Nebrumí ani nešumí. To je vše co dělají, ze špatně znějící basy dobrý zvuk nevyloudí. U BP-4 mám bypass, takže je zapnu jen pokud chci zdvihnout výšky - pro pěkný zvonivý tón, který projde i přeřvanou kapelou, nebo basy pokud hraju jen na snímač u kobylky. Funkce BP-4 s J-Fetem jako elektronkou vynikne při hře na aparát s výkonem nad 300W, kdy je pěkně slyšet bručivost spodních tónů a jakoby nakompresovanost signálu s velkým obsahem alikvotů - je to opravdu uchu nahodící. Ovšem cena je řekl bych dost vysoká. Ivan
